Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:2–3).
God’s Word tells us that when you receive revelation in the knowledge of Jesus, it will cause grace and peace to be multiplied in your life. It will cause you to receive all things that pertain to life and godliness.
What is grace? It is the unmerited, unearned and undeserved favor of God shown to us. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s grace. But the more we learn of the beauty and love of our Lord Jesus, the more we see His perfect work on the cross, and the more we position ourselves to receive a multiplication of God’s grace in our lives.
The more you know Jesus, the more you are able to tap into the ever-flowing supply of His grace, healing and every blessing you need. Every answer you need, whether physical or spiritual, is found in a revelation of Jesus. The way He delivers you is through you getting a revelation of Him—as the answer you need for your present situation.
The verse says that peace too, is multiplied to us through the knowledge of Jesus our Lord.
The Hebrew word for peace is “shalom,” and The Hebrew Lexicon describes “shalom” as completeness, safety, soundness (in body), welfare, health, prosperity, peace, quiet, tranquility, contentment, peace used of human relationships, peace with God especially in our covenant relationship and peace from war. Picture the full implications of what it means to experience Jesus’ shalom in your life! Your life will be free from regrets, anxieties and worries. How healthy, vibrant, energetic and strong you will be! Well, all these things and everything else which God has already given is released to you through the knowledge of Jesus our Lord.
The Bible shows you how when you see Jesus in the Word, you experience His life. Jesus said these amazing words, “…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) He also said, “…The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63) In other words, you allow Jesus’ supply of life to flow in your life when you see or behold Him in the Word. This is precisely how you are transformed from glory to glory. (2 Corinthians 3:18) As you keep beholding the Lord and His glory, you’ll be transformed—from sickness to health, from knowing only lack to experiencing abundance, and from having an unforgiving heart to having a joyful and loving heart.
As you simply behold Jesus and His glory, you are transformed into His image from glory to glory. You become more and more like Jesus. He becomes your strength, your wisdom and your holiness. He pours into you His love, joy and peace, driving out every fear in you. You are not changed by your self-efforts. It is by “the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). If you read the context of this verse, you will see that Paul also wrote, “the Spirit gives life” (verse 6) and “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (verse 17). That’s why, when you see Jesus in the Scriptures, you encounter His Spirit, and His Spirit imparts life and liberty to you. If you are sick, His life will swallow up that sickness and infuse you with strength. If you are hooked on nicotine or pornography, those chains will be broken and you will experience true freedom!
Your answer is not a thing, principle or formula. It is a person and His name is JESUS!
